Then the licence covers what remains. Retention policies rarely reach mail archives and file storage as thoroughly as people assume.

Our old CRM was decommissioned years ago.

There is usually an export from the decommissioning. That is frequently where the older reasoning still lives.

Does a gap reduce the number?

It reduces continuity, which is one factor of four. Reasoning density matters more, and that is unaffected by a migration.
